Association Romans International

 -     Qu’est – ce que tu fais ici exactement?

 -   Un quoi ???

 -    Ah, comme le Service Militaire!

 -    Non.

Ai –je l’air d’être soldat ? Je ne crois pas. Mais hélas, c’est la réaction de plein des gens quand j’essaye d’expliquer mon poste ici…

En fait c’est pas de tout complexe. Fondé par la Commission Européenne, un Volontaire (âgé entre 18 et 25 ans) peut faire son SVE n’importe où en Europe pour un période de 6 à 12 mois. Normalement, on travaille pour une association dans les domaines de environnement, social, international, etc. 

Bien sur avec Romans International c’est dans le cadre de l’International. Officiellement je suis ici pour dynamiser le pôle jeune. En réalité c’est beaucoup plus diverse. Mes occupations sont variés: un nouveau projet avec Angleterre, un peu de traduction, stands de publicité dans les lycées, la création des affiches…Et je bois beaucoup de thé aussi.

  Romans International n’est pas seulement une structure d’accueil. C’est également une  structure d’envoi. Cette à dire qu’ils peuvent préparer les jeunes de la Drôme pour partir en SVE.

Do I look like a soldier? I don’t think so. But alas, that’ the reaction of many people when I try to explain my role here.

In fact it’s not at all complex. Funded by the European Commission, a volunteer (aged between 18 an 25) can do their EVS anywhere in Europe for a period of 2 to 12 months. Normally you work for an association in the fields of either Environment, social work, international links, etc.

Obviously with Romans International its in the international context. Officially I’m here to create and organise activities for young people, though in reality it’s much more diverse. My tasks are varied: a new project with England, a bit of translating, publicity stands in schools, designing posters…. I drink rather lot of tea as well.

Romans International isn’t only a hosting organisation. It’s a sending organisation as well. That means that they can support and prepare young people from the Drome to take part in an EVS.
